This document describes the data flows that actually exist in the app as of this date. The app shows optional rewarded ads (Google AdMob) to free-tier users on Android; it has no analytics SDKs and no cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated before the change ships. It is hosted at a stable public URL and linked from the app's settings screen and the store listing.
Real Dreams is a dream dictionary and dream journal with an optional AI interpretation feature. It is an entertainment and self-reflection app. It is not a source of medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice.
The following is stored only on your device, using your operating system's app storage, and is never synced anywhere:

There are no accounts and no login. Uninstalling the app deletes locally stored data.
The free dream dictionary (adapted from a public-domain dream book from 1901) works without an internet connection and sends nothing anywhere.
consent in the app and then request an interpretation of a dream — never automatically. The dream text, your interface language, the mood you selected, up to 6 short dictionary symbol notes found in your text, and an anonymous device id are sent to our server (a Cloudflare Worker we operate). The server forwards the dream text, language, mood and symbol notes to Mistral AI (a company based in France) to generate the interpretation. The device id is used by our server only, to enforce the daily usage limit and to check subscription status; it is not part of what we forward to Mistral. Our server does not store your dream text or the interpretation. Mistral processes the text under its own terms and privacy policy; please read Mistral AI's privacy policy for how it handles and retains data, as we cannot guarantee its practices and they may change. Dreams can contain very sensitive personal information. Do not include names or other identifying details that you do not want processed by these services.
identifierForVendor, and on web it is a random id. It is not your name, email, or any account identifier. It is used for the daily limit and as your subscription identifier (see below).
counter and the number of extra interpretations granted that day (device id + date, deleted after about two days) and a cached subscription flag (kept for 1 to 5 minutes). Nothing else about you is stored on our server.
Real Dreams+, the purchase is processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see or store your payment details. RevenueCat receives the anonymous device id as the app user id, plus your purchase receipts, to validate the purchase and keep your subscription status in sync. See RevenueCat's own privacy policy for how it processes that data. Our server asks RevenueCat whether a device id has an active subscription so it can apply the higher daily limit.
If you turn on the morning reminder in Settings, the app asks your operating system to show one local notification every morning at 08:00 ("write down your dream"). The reminder is scheduled and shown entirely by your device: no dream content, no settings, and no identifiers are sent anywhere for it. It is off by default, needs your system notification permission, and can be turned off at any time in the app's Settings (which also cancels the scheduled notification).
subscription, and only when you choose to watch a rewarded ad to get one extra AI interpretation after the free daily interpretation is used up. There are no banners or pop-up ads in your journal, the dictionary, or anywhere else, and subscribers see no ads.
is requested and shown, Google may collect and use your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and data about your interaction with the ad, to serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, as described in Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and the AdMob data-safety documentation. The app does not send your dreams, interpretations, or journal to Google or AdMob.

If you do not consent, ads are not requested and you can keep using everything else. You can also reset your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalisation in your Android settings (Settings > Google > Ads).

The app contains no analytics SDKs, no third-party trackers beyond the advertising and subscription providers described in this document, and uses no cookies. Permissions: the app requests no location or microphone access; it uses the system notification permission only if you turn on the morning reminder, and (on Android) the advertising-ID permission that Google's ads library uses.
The developer of Real Dreams is the controller for the processing described above. Cloudflare (our server), Mistral AI (interpretation), RevenueCat (subscriptions), and Google AdMob (rewarded ads) process data under their own terms and privacy policies. Some of these providers may process data outside your country, including outside the EU/EEA/UK; see each provider's own documentation for the safeguards they use.
Real Dreams is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app collects no accounts, names, or emails from anyone. The optional AI feature has age requirements described in the Terms of Use.
There is no account, so there is nothing tied to your name to request. To erase your data, go to Settings and choose "Delete all my data": this removes your dreams, interpretations, consent, and the stored anonymous device id from your device. Note that on Android and iOS the underlying platform id (Android ID / identifierForVendor) is provided by the operating system, so a later AI request may read back the same id. On the server there is nothing personal to delete besides the short-lived counters described above, which expire on their own. Data already sent to Mistral AI or RevenueCat is governed by their retention policies. We will update this document when the app's data handling changes (for example if analytics or new advertising formats are added) and will update the "Last updated" date above accordingly.
